China Institute’s ‘China Relief Fund’

China Institute is very pleased to announce that the New Jindai Elementary School in Chongqing, the construction of which was supported by ‘China Relief Fund’ donations, has officially opened its doors to students in April of this year! The school will serve 540 local children, survivors of the 2008 earthquake in Sichuan province, and will provide students with a safe and sustainable learning environment. China Institute is in contact with the China-US Center for Sustainable Development, who partnered with Liangping County to sponsor this project, and plans to build a strong relationship between our institution and the New Jindai School through the establishment of collaborative programs in the future.
