Some of the most intriguing and important recent archaeological finds from Shandong province—bronzes vessels, jade face covers, chariot fittings, harness trappings, ceramic figures, etc.—are explored in the context of Han dynasty funerary practice and beliefs about the afterlife. Many of the objects come from imperial tombs and are published in English for the first time.
