China Institute offers a well-rounded, thorough approach to learning the Mandarin Chinese language while cultivating
knowledge and appreciation for the culture it expresses. Students learn to read, write and speak from
the first session, with all of these elements balanced throughout the entire course of study. All instructors
are native speakers with advanced degrees and training. Curriculum is based on the text New Practical
Chinese Reader, using pinyin romanization and simplified characters. Also offered are courses in Conversation and Reading. Classes
run for ten weeks.
