Discover China Through Art

Discover China Through Art (DCTA) is China Institute’s innovative arts exposure program for K-12 students.  This program runs in conjunction with the Gallery’s fall and spring art exhibitions, and offers gallery tours and special programs for student groups of all ages.  DCTA is designed to introduce students to Chinese art and culture through participatory lectures and workshops based on the exhibition’s theme. Each group visit includes an interrelated gallery talk, video presentation and hands-on workshop. In 2007, DCTA directly served more than 4,800 students from schools throughout New York City’s five boroughs.
