Offsite Children’s Classes
Private tutoring through China Institute offers a flexible alternative to regular language classes. After preliminary discussions, families and tutors decide on the most convenient class schedule and location. For every student, our experienced, teachers design a customized syllabus addressing the child’s specific learning style and strengths. Instructors use games, songs, and other fun activities.
Private tutoring is offered in 10-hour packages:
1 student, 10 hours: $1,000
2 students, 10 hours: $1,600
3 students, 10 hours: $2,100

Registration
- Registration for Children and Youth programs is on a first-come, first-served basis. For registration, please contact Children and Youth program at (212) 744-8181, ext. 110, or email celmore@chinainstitute.org.
- Registration for classes cannot be made without payment.
- Upon registration, a letter of confirmation is not issued. A copy of the receipt of your payment is available upon request.
- Classes are not available on a pro-rated basis.
Class Transfers
- Transfers for classes must be requested by telephone or in writing before the third session.
Cancellation
- If a child must be withdrawn from a Children and Youth program for medical reasons that render the child unable to participate successfully in the class, a pro-rated refund may — in the discretion of China Institute — be issued upon submission of a note signed by the child’s physician explaining the medical circumstances requiring withdrawal.
Cancellations by China Institute
China Institute reserves the right to cancel or modify classes or change faculty assignments when necessary and will make every effort to notify registrants in advance and/or accommodate them in other courses. If this is not possible, China Institute will evaluate whether a refund or credit should be issued. Courses may be canceled for insufficient enrollment between the first and second session. Should this occur, the students enrolled will receive a full refund or credit, except for the non-refundable registration fee of $50.
