Case Studies for Better Teaching (CSBT), a short course designed and delivered by Dr. Wei-ling Wu, is intended to examine the question through case studies that focus on implementation and practice. The participants will discuss and analyze various lesson plans, activities, tasks, projects, and even worksheets in light of the ACTFL Standards and the ACTFL Core Practices to see what works and what needs improvement. They will also have the opportunity to discuss their work individually with Dr. Wu during the coaching session.
This course is a continuation of the previous course Plan for Better Teaching (PBT). New participants as well as those from previous years are all welcome. Participants will receive a professional development certificate issued jointly by the NYS Language RBERN at NYU and the China Institute upon successful completion of the course.
Dr. Wei-ling Wu (吴威玲) is a nationally recognized Chinese language educator of American K-12 students and an experienced trainer of teachers. She has served on various national projects for Chinese language instruction and curriculum development, and she is also the lead author of a series of Chinese textbooks.
