Zhang Dai (1597-1680) was a renowned author in the Ming Dynasty with many verses and prose writings to his name. The Renwen Society gives tribute to him by presenting a music performance by The 7s Art, a music group based in New York City. The performance will portray the activities of a day in the life of Zhang Dai, from his waking up in the morning, enjoying the plum blossom, swimming in the lake and retiring for the night, all through instruments playing, flower arrangements and tea ceremony.

七堂藝術空間琴劇首演《張岱一日》
三月初春，凜寒餘威未盡，萬物生機萌動。七堂藝術空間（7s Art）值此陰陽交疊長消之際，應華美人文學會之邀，於2019年3月17日下午2時至4時，在紐約首推琴劇《張岱一日》。 以明末散文家張岱一日之活動，融琴、茶、書、畫、插花、焚香， 文辭歌賦於一體，通過四首古琴曲來演繹張岱一天從起床開始， 賞梅、遊湖，到晚歸的活動。用琴曲來展現張岱當時的日常生活點滴， 而這些生活場景都依據於張岱的《陶庵夢憶》，也是首次古典文本與琴曲相結合的嘗試。
7s Art — 七堂，地處紐約曼哈頓東百老匯， 致力於在海外重新發現東方生活美學，以東方生活美學為依托， 認同創造力與實驗精神。意在傳習與重識中國傳統文化， 為實驗與創新提供生髮土壤。七堂長期舉行雅集、藝術展覽、 文化沙龍以及古琴、茶道、花道、書畫等課程，持續多元的藝術空間念想。
