A little-known concept not too long ago, NFT (Non-fungible tokens) has rocketed to global popularity in the last couple of years. As reported by the Forbes Magazine, “From art and music to tacos and toilet paper, these digital assets are selling like 17th-century exotic Dutch tulips—some for millions of dollars.” In 2021, the Collins Dictionary named NFT the word of the year, as its usage had grown exponentially by 1,100 times. OpenSea, the world’s largest NFT marketplace, traded at $21.6 million in 2020 and soared to $14 billion in 2021, a full 646-fold increase. More and more people are getting involved in the creation and trading of NFTs, and records for trading NFT works are constantly set.
Also known as digital collections, NFT is currently in a period of rapid rise in China, with a number of players already entering the game. For example, Jay Chou’s Phanta Bear series, released at the end of last December, and the recent hit Beijing Winter Olympics mascot, the Bing Dun Dun, also emerged in the world of NFT. NFT is completely different from traditional artworks in every aspect, from art concept, work form and selling method, and can even be said to be deviant, exerting a strong impact on the traditional art market.
The Renwen Society presents a lecture on April 23rd by Ms. Shi Lan, CEO of CoCafe Technology, who will discuss the NFT art market and its possibilities and pitfalls.

从鲜为人知的小众词汇，到今天几乎风靡全球，NFT的发展可以说是火箭的速度。NFT有多火？2021年，《柯林斯词典》把它评为年度词汇，因其使用量增长了1100倍，同时NFT市场也爆发式增长。全球最大NFT市场数字公海（OpenSea）在2020年交易额为2160万美元， 2021年则飙升到140亿美元，整整涨了646倍。越来越多人参与到NFT的创作和交易中，NFT作品的交易纪录不断被刷新
在中国，NFT又被称为数字藏品，目前正处于高速上升期，已经有不少角色试水入局。比如周杰伦在21年12月底合作发行的Phanta Bear（幻象熊）系列，以及近日大热的北京冬奥会吉祥物冰墩墩也出现在NFT的世界里。它从艺术理念、作品形态、售卖方式等各个方面，都跟传统艺术品完全不一样，甚至可以说是离经叛道，对传统艺术品市场产生了强烈的冲击。
