Chinese food has always been a fun prism through which to understand China. Since our founding in 1925, China Institute has embraced the power of cuisine to deepen understanding and develop personal interest in China. From our public classes teaching Chinese cooking techniques in the 1940’s and 50’s to today’s digital cooking courses for children, China Institute has been an innovator and champion of Chinese food for many decades. And we are not done yet; next year, China Institute will put the finishing touches on our grand culinary center with a commercial test kitchen in our first-floor space!

There is lots to look forward to and we invite you to enjoy past food-focused events in the meantime:
