Special Award presented to the NIXON FAMILY in commemoration of the 50th Anniversary of President Richard Nixon’s trip reopening diplomatic relations with China

China Fashion Gala, July 23, 2020
Experience our ‘One World in Beauty’ benefit Gala as we honor the dazzling diversity of Chinese fashion and culture. At this year’s event we saluted the global prestige beauty brand Estée Lauder; fashion designer and opinion leader Phillip Lim; actress, director, artist, and activist Lucy Liu; and Chinese investor, entrepreneur and philanthropist Wendy Yu.

The program also featured a Heaven Gaia fashion show, with designer Xiong Ying, and a special performance of the legendary Thousand Hand Bodhisattva dance!

Fashion Design Competition, December 9, 2020
China Institute’s annual Fashion Design Competition supports emerging designers by promoting creativity inspired by China’s culture and aesthetics in contemporary, global design. The winner receives a $10,000 award! The second prize winning designer will receive a $5,000 award. The third place designer will receive a summer internship with a renowned professional fashion designer. Congratulations to Ruohan Nie on her 1st place win.
