Mandarin Meetup at China Institute
Meet with like-minded people who are interested in Chinese and eager to practice! The Adult Language Program at China Institute hosts Mandarin Meetup groups to welcome everybody at our new location at downtown Manhattan. With facilitators who are native speakers and are professionally trained in teaching Chinese as a second language, you will get the most out of the meetups.
Also, you will get to learn a little bit of Chinese calligraphy with traditional Chinese tea being served freshly hot…. You won’t see Mandarin meetup groups like ours anywhere else in NYC!
You don’t need to speak Mandarin to join us at all. Our only expectation? Feel the Chinese culture and language, and enjoy communicating in Mandarin!

“Mandarin Table” at the Yale Club
China Institute is co-hosting an event series “Mandarin Table” at the Yale Club.
At this series of lunches held lunchtime on the first Friday each month, you will get to enjoy a delightful lunch and practice your Chinese. Seasoned Mandarin Table program organizer Ms. Tina Li Sheff will lead the group and facilitate conversations.
Over delicious food at a member rate, participants get together to speak Mandarin Chinese with native speakers, learn Chinese culture, share learning experiences, and meet with fellow Mandarin Chinese language lovers. No charge. Just pay for your lunch (estimate: $20-$25/person).
Please note: § This opportunity is only open to students (intermediate to advanced) currently registered in the adult language program. § The table could accommodate 6 students from CI each Friday. So we refer our students on a first come, first served basis.
