Chinese for Children 2021: Fall Registration is now open!
Fall classes begin in-person and online on September 19. We are accepting new and returning students ages 2-16 for the fall semester at all proficiency levels!
Our program offers language classes at all proficiency levels for toddlers, children and teens ages 2-16. Choose from a variety of classes designed to meet the different learning objectives of every student.
Siblings of students are eligible to receive one 30-minute private tutoring session (a $50 value). Students with China Institute Family Memberships are also entitled to this free session.
Afterschool Mandarin Enrichment
Afterschool Mandarin enrichment classes are a great option for students who are just getting started with their Mandarin studies, or those with previous Mandarin exposure who would like greater exposure and more rigorous practice in a small group setting. Classes available for students of all ages and language levels, Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Sundays at the Downtown location and Fridays and Saturdays at the UES location.
Intensive Literacy Classes
Intensive Literacy classes are for advanced students, speakers of Chinese at home, and students looking to take the next step in enhancing their Mandarin proficiency. Designed to target student’s reading and writing abilities, the Intensive Literacy curriculum utilizes the same textbooks as Chinese students at top Beijing schools. Introductory, intermediate, and advanced literacy classes are offered on Wednesdays and Sundays at our DT location, and Saturdays at our UES location (online options currently under consideration).
Mandarin Munchkins and Toddler Classes
Early exposure to a foreign language has been proven to dramatically improve a child’s aptitude for language long-term. Give your child the gift of early exposure and set them up for future success with our Mandarin Munchkins and Toddler classes. These age-appropriate classes focus on the basics of early childhood development, including improvement of social, emotional, cognitive and motor skills in an immersive and interactive learning environment involving hands-on activities, story-telling, music, and educational games.
Classes follow the academic school-semester from September 2021 to June 2022. The semester consists of 16 weeks. Snacks are included for in-person offerings.
